Miranda Tempest and Taliya Cohen have been working together as aerial partners for 4 years. The intent behind any and all their projects is to combine awe inspiring movement and partnering with substantial story and character work. Their continuing goal is to go deeper into duo choreography, particularly on the aerial hoop, in order to create something truly moving.
As artists the two have performed internationally for the last 8 years throughout North America to much acclaim as solo artists and more recently as a duo. Both artists are also avid teachers of the aerial arts and have been featured at some of the continent's largest movement-oriented events and festivals, as well as guesting at numerous Canadian and US-based circus schools, including Cirque Roots in Tuscon, AZ; Emerald City Trapeze Arts in Seattle, WA; The Stomping Ground in Minneapolis, MN; and Twisted Circus in Kingston, Ontario.
Individually, Miranda is the owner of Illuminair Entertainment, the head coach of the Flying Arts Collective, and the producer/director of the highly acclaimed "Nerdgasm" variety show series in Toronto, which seeks to combine popular culture with modern circus performance in a cabaret setting.
Taliya is the director of one of Toronto's most up and coming music/performance spaces, Round Venue, which has been integral to fostering contemporary, exploratory work among the city's aerial community for nearly 2 years, most notibly by having been a featured performance venue for the Contemporary Circus Arts Festival of Toronto in 2014.
